Day 1 of the module
We spent the day in the centre of Bristol. Recording everything in our surroundings through sketches, words, objects, sounds, etc. A number of tasks were set. All of which we were to record in our sketchbooks. This also involved using the drawing implements which we had created.

Part 2 of the module
This was to be part of a rotation period which would spread out the course of the next four weeks. Each week, we would have a different lecturer, in a different location with a different task and practical activities. For me, my lecturers for the different weeks, in order, will be Stephen Monger, Jez Nemeth, Jennifer Leckey and Kate Rogers.
Week 1: Stephen Monger
For our session, we had Steve as our lecturer for the day. He had requested the group I was in meet outside of Aldi in Southville, to begin our exercise. During which we had to record the environment we were in, in our sketchbooks. After which, we were to chose a building of our choice and then to use the amount of cardboard we had gathered, we had to use our sketches of that building to create a 3D model. Mine was the establishment, 'The Post'. To make it look presentable instead of looking like a simple cardboard box, I purchased a Kerrang Magazine and used the contents of its pages to cover it. This then gave the impression of a typical newsagents.

Week 2: Jez Nemeth
For our second week, we had Jez as our lecturer for the day. This session consisted of Life Drawing but with a twist. The model for the day was fully dressed and we were using her poses to map out elements of typography. For example, the first task was using her pose for an Ampersand (& - The Symbol for the word 'And'). The method we used for creating the pose on paper was to make all of the parts of the pose connect with the rest. The went on this way, exploring different aspects.
Week 3: Jennifer Leckey
For our third session, we had Jennifer as our lecturer for the day. This was probably the most entertaining practical rotation. The reason for this, is because for this session we had to dance to a song and record it with our phones. Being really experimental I ended up choosing the Carlton dance from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' in which he dances to "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones.

Week 4: Kate Rogers
For our final session, we had Kate as the lecturer for the day. For this session we need to bring wire and an A3 passport style photo of our mother. The twist, was that we to be making wire models from somebody else's mother and someone else would do ours. The idea was that when bended to to create shape and depth, whenever light would be shone onto the design, the style would be reflected on the wall or table, etc.

Part 3
Now that all of the rotation sessions have been completed, all of the work that we have done needed to be brought in. Everything from the 3D models to the Wire Designs of our mothers. During the crit of all of our work, we will also be given the new project brief. Exciting!!
One Day project: The cardboard 'Converse All Stars'
As I said before, all of the rotation sessions have now finished. We then had to bring in a load of cardboard along with other materials such as string, tape, glue, etc. All of this was then to go towards making a pair of cardboard shoes. I decided to create mine based on 'Converse All Stars'. These shoes had to be our natural shoe size, they had to fit and above all else, they had to work.

From Shoes to words
My group decided to do three words instead of one. Our words were: 'ACTIVE', 'AWARE' and 'UNIQUE'
Each word was laid out in a location which we felt that word would best represent. For example, 'AWARE' was laid out in the exhibition area where our work was presented. 'ACTIVE' was laid out by the bike sheds and 'UNIQUE' was laid out letter by letter using the building stairwell.

What next for the shoes???
For the next task regarding our cardboard shoe, I have to find a photo which includes myself, head to toe. Using this image, I will be re-staging / re-interpreting it using our cardboard shoes. The new photograph will then be positioned next to a copy of the original image for the final submission.
I will be using a photo of myself when I was sixteen years old for when I was going to the prom.

Silhouette Performance
In a group of four, we are to write and perform a piece entirely in the style of a silhouette performance. We have created the story for our performance piece based on a description of an image which we have received from another group. For inspiration on how to create a silhouette piece, we looked at stop frame animations by Lottie Reiniger.
Here's an Example:

The Story we are following
In groups, we were given an image and from this image we had to give a detailed description of it. We then gave our descriptions to another group and we got a description from another.
Our story was this:

Our storyboard
From this description we came up with a storyboard as well as following the story of one of the books mentioned in the description. 'The Garden Party'.
